Hay Talks: AI Is The Biggest Threat Facing Humanity
7pm | free entry
Artificial intelligence is advancing at an extraordinary pace, transforming how we work, think, create and interact with the world. But are we moving forward without fully understanding the consequences?
Join us at The Globe at Hay for a thought-provoking evening of debate exploring the motion: AI is the biggest threat facing humanity.
Bringing together four expert speakers, we’ll examine whether AI represents an unprecedented danger to human creativity, intelligence and our future — or whether its potential to enhance our abilities and solve some of the world's greatest challenges outweighs the risks.
From the future of art, music and writing to the impact of AI on human thinking, education and employment, we’ll question what happens when machines begin to perform tasks once considered uniquely human. We’ll also explore the environmental cost of AI, asking whether the energy and resources required to power its development can be justified by the benefits it might bring.
